MADONNA AUPS
Madonna A U P School,situates near Kasaragod railway station.This school started on 26 th May 1939 at the request of the people of Kasaragod .The sisters of the Apostolic Carmel Congregation( founded by Mother Veronica) found necessary for a school for girls to impart good education to the pupils of this place.It was started as a Kannada medium school for girls.The establishment grew within a short time on 27th May 1940. Foundation stone for the new school was laid and the school had 110 pupils as against 5 only at the start.The new school block was blessed on 11th October 1940.Then the children had every facility for a good education.In 1943 the first parent's day was kept up.Prizes were given at the cost of the public.The strength of the children steadily increased.On 14th June 1947 we got the sanction from the DPI to convert our VI-VIII standards to I,II and III form.In 1958 Malayalam Parallel Section were opened.Then onwards we have classes from Ist to VIIth standards both in Kannada and in Malayalam.On 17th February 1990 we celebrated the Golden Jubilee of our school.On 30th July 2010 our school got the minority right.
We are very proud to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of our school in the year 2014.Now we have 350 pupils,17 teachers and an office attendant in our school.In 1991 a spacious office room with two other class rooms were put up.In the year 2011 a new block above the office room was put up with the help of our old students, Management,and PTA.Our school is well equipped with a Lab and an IT Smart room.The students from Ist standard learn the Computer.We are blessed with a big playground.
Our students participate in all the competition and they won the overall trophy for WorkExperience,Science,Mathematics,Social Science and IT fair.Our students also get LSS and USS scholarships.
